Because of operation Exodus – do you remember Space 1999 and Moonbase Alpha?
Has Exodus from social media begun? How may we preserve freedom of speech on social media?
FREE SPEECH AND PRIVACY
Free speech is in danger
When a few platforms decide what people should read, watch and listen to, free speech is no more.
This should concern you greatly, for without free speech your message is not going to reach those who are interested in it.
Without privacy, there can be no free speech
When posting publicly – maybe on your social media profile – everyone can see what you are doing.
Your boss could not like what you post, or maybe someone will ring your boss and ask for you to be sacked. This has happened in real life.
Granting the maximum possible level of privacy to yourself is a necessity. You have to find a balance between privacy and an effective message.
CENSORSHIP AND FAKE NEWS
Censorship and rules
Some social media are sometimes applying censorship and suspending/banning decent people.
We don’t like censorship and obscure rules by techno-giants who are now dictating what is ok for us to read/watch/hear/write.
It seems to me the hunt for fake news is a form of censorship.
Because nowadays fake news is seemingly news not given by MSM (MainStream Media) and/or deemed to be not politically correct.
Apparently the hunt for fake news has become the hunt for those who harbor different and/or controversial ideas.
You can read about bans everyday on many social media.
Fake news has seemingly become a synonym for censorship – better, the politically correct term for censorship.
